Wolff’s Buckwheat Groats

From the packaging:

Stove top preparation directions

BOIL: In a medium sauce pan, bring 2 cups broth, water, or bouillon and 2 tbsp. margine or butter* to a boil.

MIX: Add 1 cup buckwheat groats, 1/2 tsp. salt**, and 1/8 tsp. pepper to boiling liquid and stir.

SIMMER: Cover; reduce heat to low. Simmer 10 minutes or until most of the liquid is absorbed.

FLUFF: Fluff buckwheat groats, lightly with fork before serving. Makes 4 cups

Microwave directions

Add 1 cup of buckwheat groats to a microwaveable bowl. Heat in microwave, uncovered, for 2 min. Boil 2 cups of water and slowly add to the buckwheat groats. Add salt, pepper and butter, then stir. Heat in microwave, covered, for 5 to 7 min. Remove and fluff mixture with fork.

*Low Fat Version: Eliminate butter or margarine. **Less salt may be required if using broth.
